KAZAKH ARTISTS WIN OVER AUDIENCE IN BEIJING
‘Meeting on the Silk Road’ is the name of the concert held in Beijing. The concert was organized jointly by the Kazakh Embassy in China and the Chinese Culture Ministry to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China. Famous Kazakh artists and singers performed to the accompaniment of the Chinese national television and radio symphony orchestra.
AIMAN MUSSAKHAJAYEVA, PEOPLE’S ARTIST OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- The initiatives of the two presidents have coincided. Nursultan Nazarbayev initiated new economic policy ‘Nurly Zhol’. Xi Jinping proposed ‘One Belt, One Road’ program. So, the two harmonious initiatives were transmitted into art.
Spectators were amazed by Kazakh artists’ performances. The warmly welcomed Maira Mukhamedkyzy, a graduate of music faculty of the People’s University of China and Conservatory. The audience appreciated the performance of Wo Ai Ni and ‘Shat’ folk ensemble.
WAN XIMAN, BEIJING RESIDENT:
- I am familiar with Kazakh songs. I came here to see the performance of the Kazakh violinist. The concert was fabulous. I was happy to see Dimash in that concert.
Dimash Kudaibergen performed two songs in English and Chinese and received standing ovations. It was Chinese singing competition where Dimash gained recognition around the globe.
XIA MAY, BEIJING RESIDENT:
- The concert was held at a high level. I liked it. I was amazed by the performance of Kazakh artists. I am happy to see Dimash because I am his fan.
Kazakhstan and China have always had good relations. Silk Road, with a history of more than 2,000 years, is a proof that the countries have had long-standing connection. The concert was not just a symbol of friendship between Kazakhstan and China, but also a unification of the musical cultures and traditions of the Kazakhs and Chinese.
