Silk Road International festival delights the audience once again
Silk Road International festival delights the audience once again. This year the festival featured one of the best works of the famous Russian choreographer Boris Eifman, ballet Rodin. The ballet tells the love story of the great French sculptor Auguste Rodin (читать как Родэң) and his student and muse Camille Claudel. The spectators could see how sculptures are created through the incredible plasticity of the human body.
Tursynbek NURKALIYEV, DIRECTOR OF BALLET TROUP, ASTANA OPERA:
Rodin is becoming more popular. Like a good wine, it is becoming more and more interesting every time because the artists have also matured artistically. I think Rodin will be a ballet that will forever live on our stages.
Leading dancer Zhanibek Imankulov affirms the dynamism of the performance. The artist says that the transition from classical ballet to modern ballet was a challenge for him. However, three years of hard work has paid back.
Zhanibek IMANKULOV, BALLET DANCER:
I became stronger and started dancing more professionally. I think I put my heart in it. I think about the movements and the character. When I took this role, it affected me, made more passionate.
Rodin was one of the highlights of the Silk Road festival. However, the festival is still running and the theater art connoisseurs will be able to enjoy the upcoming grand gala ballet with participation of Italian ballet stars of Naples Teatro di San Carlo and "La Bayadere" by Ludwig Minkus. The internationally acclaimed masterpiece ballet "Swan Lake" will close the festival.
Tursynbek NURKALIYEV, DIRECOTR OF BALLET TROUP, ASTANA OPERA:
Our dancer who has been performing in Germany for 8 years will perform here. We invited him to Astana Opera. Olzhas Tarlanov has come back home so to say. Our prima ballerina Aigerim Beketayeva will dance as well.
Undoubtedly, Silk Road Festival connects different countries and nations by promoting a dialogue between cultures and traditions. It has already becomes an annually anticipated holiday for Astana’s art lovers.
