The Academy Awards (Oscars) is the highest honour or cinematic achievement in the world of film, telegraph.co.uk reports.

 

The awards are estimated to receive a viewership of several hundred million people, in more than 200 countries.

 

The red carpet that the stars will walk down is a staggering 500 ft long and 33 feet wide.

 

Academy rules stipulate that acceptance speeches must not run over 45 seconds, which is harder than it sounds for some.
