Students from Tashkent develop smart mask that identifies coronavirus

Students of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT), Doston Mardiyev and Aziza Abdurakhmonova, developed a smart face mask that identifies coronavirus. It reacts to a person's body temperature, cough and shortness of breath. Sensors send the recorded indicators to a smartphone, where a mobile application compares the data with the symptoms of COVID-19. If a person with the mask has high temperature, the app immediately sends a signal. The mask is reusable and has replaceable inserts.

The development is currently being finalized and tested. The young inventors plan to connect it with hospitals, so that medical staff will be able to receive messages and timely respond to signals about coronavirus symptoms among the population.

The students of the Computer and Software Engineering faculty of IUT said that it will ease the way of helping people infected with COVID-19 and prevent its spread. The inventors are currently looking for investors to implement the project.
