Number of COVID-19 Cases Keeps Growing in Central Asia

42 more people were infected with coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan, including several doctors of Jalal-Abad infectious hospital. In this regard, the hospital was temporarily closed and is being disinfected at the moment. All the patients were taken to Osh regional hospital.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan reached 270. Four people died. A state of emergency was introduced in the country.

As of April 8, 14 more coronavirus cases were registered in Uzbekistan, bringing the total number of the infected to 534, Uzbek Health Ministry reported. General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan urges citizens to keep a personal journal of interactions.

Every citizen is recommended to take notes of when, where, how and with whom he or she had interacted with. This data is necessary to prevent the infection spread and, after all, to save thousand lives,” said the statement.

In spite of the fact that the coronavirus pandemic spread across the whole world, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have not reported any confirmed cases yet.
