European Union’s New Central Asia Strategy
The European Union’s new Central Asia Strategy is aimed to enhance existing relations between the parties. The document is designed for the next 10 years.
The main priority of the upgraded strategy is the sustainable development of the region. The strategy also focuses on political integration, security, environmental protection, climate change, education and youth policy.
According to the European Union’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Sven-Olov Carlsson, the document which focuses to expand the range of multilateral relations is opening up various new opportunities for the parties.
“Following the agreement with Kazakhstan, we are now negotiating both with Kyrgyzstan and also with Uzbekistan,” he said.
