Tajikistan and Russia Strenghtens Cooperation in Education and Research Areas
Tajikistan and Russia are actively strengthening cooperation in research and education areas.
To date, the countries are implementing projects aimed at developing the youth potential. For example, there is a new program in Tajikistan on improving teaching techniques of Russian and English languages until 2030.
Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Irina Schasnovich said the language program is primarily aimed at improving youth education in Tajikistan.
“We have a massive campaign where students of lyceums and schools can test their knowledge of the world. The test will be conducted in two languages, specifically English and Russian. There are five sections to the test which includes biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and geography,” she said.
Russia is also planning to build five new schools in Tajikistan at the expense of the federal budget. Students in the country also have an opportunity to receive scholarships to study in Russian universities.
Russian Center for Science and Culture project coordinator, Nikita Bykhovskiy said this year 630 scholarships have been allocated for students from Tajikistan to study in Russia.
Meanwhile, Dushanbe hosted a seminar recently on students’ engagement in business development. Participants of the seminar presented their business project ideas to potential investors.
The project is implemented as part of the ‘Business Eurasia’ international youth school based on the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Dushanbe.
The university’s Director of Information and Analytical Center, Darya Chizhova said the main goal of the project is to provide Tajik students with basic knowledge of business.
“Nowadays, there is a trend of youth entrepreneurship development in Tajikistan and Russia,” she said.
