New air flights from Dushanbe to Bukhara
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are strengthening bilateral cooperation by introducing new flights between Dushanbe and Bukhara. The one hour flight will be operated on Mondays. Passengers of the first flight from Tajikistan were warmly welcomed at the airport in Uzbekistan. The Tajik delegation visited historical attractions of the ancient city of Bukhara. The visitors were impressed by the madrasahs, mosques, large minaret as well as Registan, park and Ismail Samani mausoleum. Samani is the founder of the Tajik state.
A concert marking the first flight was held with performances of popular dancers and musicians.
Experts viewed that the resumption of air services between the cities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will contribute to the intensive development of trade and economic cooperation. It will also strengthen the cultural and educational ties between the countries and create a favorable environment to increase tourist flows in both directions.
