Kazakhstan to host World Investor Week 2020
The World Investor Week (WIW) kicks off in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan. This time, the participants will meet online. The virtual event will start on Monday, October 5, and will last until October 9. The experts of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), who are the main organizers of the virtual meeting, intend to assist Kazakh residents on consumer protection in financial services and with the basics of investment. Literally everyone can take part. Speakers include the AIFC experts, as well as domestic and foreign specialists in the field of stock markets, consumer and investor protection, financial technology, green and Islamic finance, securities market instruments, and continuous professional development.
The WIW is held annually by financial regulators in 80 countries on six continents under the auspices of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
“The IOSCO is an international organization that unites the world’s securities regulators. IOSCO members regulate more than 95 percent of the world’s securities market in more than 115 jurisdictions. Hosting of the WIW reflects the AIFC’s adherence to the IOSCO standards on consumer protection in financial services,” the press office of the AIFC reported.
In the previous two years, the WIW was held offline in the format of lectures with the participation of more than 5,000 people from seven cities of Kazakhstan.
