8th Forum of Kazakhstan mechanical engineers begins
The Industry Development Fund will be created in Kazakhstan, announced Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar in his welcoming address at the opening of the 8th forum of Kazakhstan mechanical engineers, which is held online this year for the first time.
“Kazakh President in his state-of-the-nation address “Kazakhstan in a New Reality: Time for Action” set a specific task to increase the production volumes in the manufacturing industry at least by 1.5 times in five years. Domestic machinery engineering as a locomotive of the manufacturing industry has been and will be of particular attention of the country’s leadership,” noted Roman Sklyar.
He said that the country’s machinery engineering shows good growth rate today, and the industry’s growth indicators have taken leading positions throughout the manufacturing sector of Kazakhstan. The machinery engineering has grown 16 percent over eight months of this year, which is the result of joint painstaking work of the state and business, he added. First of all, the country faces the task of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises through the mechanisms of creating preferential financial instruments, introducing new technologies, developing basic industries, local content and promoting exports.
“Nowadays domestic machinery engineering enterprises have the opportunity to use a whole set of measures of the state support, ranging from concessional financing, including tools of the Kazakhstan Development Bank, program “Economy of Simple Things” or Business Roadmap 2025, to marketing, involving usage of the instrument of concessional leasing and export promotion. Government and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs have a joint platform – Project Office, which promptly solves the main issues of implementing the “Economy of Simple Things” program. In particular, the range of activity codes was expanded for a wider coverage of business entities, the interest rate of financing was reduced to 6 percent, and KPIs were established for local content for local executive bodies. A new effective tool, that is Industry Development Fund, will be created in addition to these mechanisms. In order to facilitate the development of Kazakhstan's mechanical engineering, the Roadmap for the industry development for 2019-2024 has been adopted and is being implemented,” commented the Kazakh Deputy PM.
The work of the first international specialized exhibition for machinery engineering and metalworking “Kazakhstan Machinery Fair 2020” will also take place during the forum. Based on the forum’s results, specific recommendations will be worked out for the further development of the machinery engineering industry, which will be sent to the Kazakh Government for the joint solution of tasks.
