Kazakh honey export has every opportunity to grow
Kazakhstan is set to increase honey exports. Despite the temporary border closures due to the novel coronavirus, the beekeepers of the country started to form the stocks of the finished product.
The farm in Oskemen is increasing the volumes of honey production. The farm already bought 900 bee families. The head of the farm Valery Kassymbayev says that there is the economic necessity to expand the apiary, because the trade partners from China are willing to purchase more than 200 tons of the domestic honey. Once the borders are open, the Kazakh honey will be exported to China by rail. The businesspeople of Kazakhstan and China are negotiating the details of the future deals over the phone. The entrepreneurs are preparing to sign a major contract at a personal meeting after the compulsory presentation of the technology of packing and sanitary protection of the Kazakh honey.
“The new contracts will be signed only during the face-to-face discussion. The partners, who are willing to purchase our honey, need to be present during the honey packing, certification and food safety assessment – only then the further supplies can be organized,” Kassymbayev explained.
Experts of the Republican Chamber of Beekeepers have no doubt that the Kazakh honey will remain in demand in overseas markets and the exports to Europe and Asia will be certainly resumed.
