Mazhilis approves amendments ensuring special powers of Kazakh President during the state of emergency
The Kazakh President will receive additional powers for the period of the state of emergency in Kazakhstan. The corresponding amendment was introduced to the state of emergency draft law at a plenary meeting of the Mazhilis (Lower chamber of the Parliament).
Kazakh Minister of National Economy Ruslan Dalenov said that the state of emergency draft law is planned to be supplemented on various issues in 14 areas of legislation.
“This is banking, tax, budget, customs, public procurement field and others. Regulation features can be established in these areas during the state of emergency. These are the areas that have the maximum impact on the economy. Therefore, there is a need to take emergency measures, including tax incentives, accelerated public procurement, social security issues, currency regulation and a number of other issues,” said the minister.
Ruslan Dalenov highlighted that the draft law implementation will ensure the President’s emergency intervention in public relations in the state of emergency, requiring urgent action aimed at maintaining stability and ensuring national and economic security of the state.
