12th Astana Economic Forum will be Held in Kazakh Capital on May 16-17
The 12th Astana Economic Forum will be held in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan on May 16th until May 17th this year.
The topic of the forum is ‘Inspiring Growth: People, Cities, Economies’ and experts will discuss new ways of reaching sustainable growth as well as human capital development and strengthening of potential cities as international centers of knowledge and innovation.
A total of 50 sessions are scheduled currently and 5,000 people is expected to take part in the upcoming forum.
“This year we focus on the content of the forum. Traditionally, the world experts will give recommendations. Moreover, the Economic Research Institute will launch a survey aimed at the extensive and in-depth study of Kazakhstan’s development.”
“There will be unique sessions such as the session by Invest Forum. Major investors from the United States, China and the European countries will be invited. Perhaps there will also be a major contract signing. In the future, this will increase the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan,” said Astana Economic Forum organizer, Shokan Orazbekov.
The forum will conclude with the advice and ideas that will be given by Nobel laureates and leading economists on improving the economic and social policy of Kazakhstan.
Over the past years, the recommendations were taken into account when making anti-crisis decisions at the G8 and G20 platforms as well as the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
In 2012, the recommendations from the Astana Economic Forum were presented at the plenary session of the United Nations General Assembly.
