Promoting Kazakhstan Export

Promoting Kazakhstan Export

Kazakhstan is promoting its domestic products in foreign markets. According to data provided by Kazakhstan Chamber of International Commerce, the country signed 73 export agreements for the shipment of processed products worth US$ 457 million in 2018. The 2018 figures are higher than in 2017. The increase resulted from foreign trade missions and participation in international specialized exhibitions.

NURALY BOKEIKHANOV, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, KAZAKHSTAN CHAMBER OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE:

- We expect that the export value of non-raw material products will total 12 billion Tenge in 2018. The major export items are in the mining industry such as metal products, rails, cross ties and steelworks. The food industry has a great export potential as well with products, such as flour, meat products and confectionery. The main sales markets for Kazakhstan-made products are the Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan as well as the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

There are about 1,800 exporters in Kazakhstan which includes 450 non-raw materials producers. This year, the Government will continue presenting Kazakh enterprises in foreign markets and organizing trade missions. Kazakh producers will visit Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, China, Afghanistan and Turkey. A single online website for exporters will be developed this year.

NURALY BOKEIKHANOV, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, KAZAKHSTAN CHAMBER OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE:

- The website will include more than 10,000 standards of various countries. Our enterprises will have the opportunity to collect information about potential sales markets in one site. This website will contain information about the sales market size, logistics routes and the packaging, certification and storage requirements. The site will provide a single glossary and will serve as a database for exporters.

This year, the Kazakh authorities are planning to open 10 Kazakh trade missions in foreign countries such as Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, Iran and Central Asian countries. The trade mission will provide assistance and information to Kazakh enterprises selling their products in foreign countries.
