Meat industry is being developed in Kazakhstan
The meat industry is being developed in Kazakhstan. Experts say that the process is progressing quite successfully. Last year, the Kostanai region farmers exported almost 1,500 tonnes of meat. In addition, they brought nearly 2,000 heads of cattle from abroad. This was facilitated by various state support programs.
TOLEUTAI YERZHANOV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND LAND AFFAIRS:
- There are 80,000 heads of cattle in our region at the moment. Of which 30,000 will be kept for breeding. There are 24 farms involved in breeding livestock in the region. They will sell the offspring inside and outside the area.
Products of the meat processing enterprise in the Kordai region of the Zhambyl region also enjoy the stable demand not only in the domestic market, but also abroad. The annual output of the relatively new facility, which has been operating for one year is 6,500 tonnes.
GULMIRA ABDYZHAPAROVA, TECHNOLOGIST OF ENTERPRISE:
- There are 80 heads in a shift per day. If it is cattle, then there are 150 small cattle per shift. This is the slaughterhouse productivity. First of all, we focus on safe quality. For this purpose, we have provided the sanitary control.
ALEKSANDER BAKHANTSOV, CHIEF ENGINEER OF ENTERPRISE:
- We’ve exported a volume of nearly 60 tonnes. This is small cattle, precisely in Bahrain. Some contracts are in process. We are entering markets of China and the United Arab Emirates. In the future, we can sell our products in the Russian Federation.
The number of cattle meat is being increased in order to develop exports in the Zhambyl region. In 2018, 1,480 heads were delivered from neighboring countries, which is 17 times higher compared to 2017. Import of new breeds has a positive effect on the export of meat.
YERLAN KULKEYEV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, REGIONAL AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT:
- This multiplier effect contributed to the export of products. Last year, our exports amounted to 495 tonnes. Since the beginning of the year, the Zhambyl region has exported over 2,200 tonnes of various meat products.
Today domestic meat products are shipped to several countries. The state helps the agricultural producers to join the foreign markets. This is a successful example of local enterprises.
