Kazakhstan manufactured cars boost export
Boosting exports of cars manufactured in Kazakhstan will expand the potential of Kazakh automotive industry in the upcoming years. According to the chairman of Kazakhstan’s Automotive Union Oleg Alfyorov, Kazakh-made cars will be exported to foreign markets including Uzbekistan as part of the 2020-2024 Industrial and Innovative Development Program. Over the first nine months of this year, the volume of passenger cars manufactured in Kazakhstan has grown by almost 83 per cent. The enterprises manufactured 22,709 vehicles worth 141 billion Tenge, including cars, trucks and buses. The demand for the domestic output has also increased. Kazakh citizens purchased more than 20,000 cars worth 120 billion Tenge in the first nine months of the year, which is 70 per cent higher compared to the same period last year.
OLEG ALFYOROV, HEAD, UNION OF KAZAKH AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES:
- Last year was very successful for the Kazakh car manufacturing industry as 2017 marked the breakthrough in the exports of the domestic cars. The manufacturing plant in Oskemen exported to the Chinese market more than 1,500 crossovers assembled at the Oskemen Automobile Plant. These cars were very popular in China. Export subsidies should be provided for the successful operations at the neighbouring sales markets.
