Kazakhstan is setting new records on the export of liquefied gas to Ukraine
Kazakhstan is setting new records on the export of liquefied gas to Ukraine. This year, the figures have grown more than 12 times. Only for the last eight months, the republic exported over 170,000 tonnes of liquefied gas to Ukraine.
ARNUR TANBAI, ADVISOR, EMBASSY OF KAZAKHSTAN IN UKRAINE:
- The Ukrainian market of liquefied gas is very huge. In recent years it has been growing at a rate between 25-30% a year. Ukraine is ranked fourth in the world as the country has many cars using this type of fuel. I think that this is a good indicator and this market is very important to Kazakhstan. Since Ukraine is dependent on gas imports, the country is interested in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan.
STANISLAV BATRACHENKO, MEMBER, EUROPEAN LIQUEFIED GAS ASSOCIATION:
- In the first eight months of 2018, there is a stable supply of liquefied gas from Kazakhstan. This is very encouraging as it stabilizes the market situation in Ukraine. Moreover, this is an excellent quality of liquefied gas, which withstands EN 589. This gas is unique and can be supplied on a fractional basis. This means propane and butane are separately supplied. We are grateful to Kazakhstan for the stable supply, high quality and the fractional basis.
Today 30% of gas imported by Ukraine is from Kazakhstan. Nearly 10 companies, specifically traders and manufacturers deliver the product. Experts are sure that by the end of the year Kazakhstan can set a new record by exporting more than 200,000 tonnes of fuel.
