Export of Kazakh electric locomotives
Kazakhstan has started exporting electric locomotives. The first 50 locomotives will be exported from Astana to Azerbaijan. International buyers are interested in the modern features of the local technology. Electric locomotives weighing 200 tonnes can deliver 12 tonnes of cargo at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The electric locomotives could also run in 50 Degrees Celsius of frost and heat.

- A is very close to the locomotive KZ8A. AZ8 is in charge of the full assembly of the locomotive. The first step is to propose locomotive in Kazakhstan.
Today, 68 electric locomotives of local assembly are in operation in the country. They are produced at a plant located on the territory of the Astana Special Economic Zone. In the next two years, 10 passenger and 40 freight electric locomotives will be exported to Azerbaijan.The contract amounted to nearly 300 million Euros. Negotiations on supplies are conducted with Belarus, Lithuania, Iran and Uzbekistan.

- This is the first one which we supply for this power in 15-20 market. 40 locomotives for freight will be supplied in Astana.
According to the company's management, the plant will annually manufactures approximately 100 electric locomotives. However, with the growing interest in domestic products, the production will only increase in the future.
