Kazakhstan and ISO international standards
Kazakhstan is increasing its export potential. Today, the country's technical committees are actively involved in the work of the International Organization for Standardization. According to specialists, the influence on certain norms in international standards simplifies the supply of Kazakh goods to third countries. Recently, Kazakhstan took part in the 105th meeting of the ISO Council in Malaysia. The participants discussed the IT strategy for digital transformation of work processes. It involves switching to an online platform, which will lead to simplification of standards development and transparency. In addition, this will shorten the time of consideration. Currently the International Organization for Standardization unites 165 countries of the world. The ISO Council includes only 20 states, including Kazakhstan.
GALYMZHAN DUGALOV, SENIOR OFFICIAL, KAZAKH MINISTRY OF INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT:
- To date, we participate in the voting method. The 107 ISO technical committees and subcommittees have been registered. We have access to these standards; we comment and add our conditions, if some documents are accepted internationally. Today Kazakhstan is ranked 50th that shows active participation in the ISO technical committees.
