Trade relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
Kazakhstan is one of Uzbekistan’s largest trade partners. The Uzbek businessmen and the Kazakh entrepreneurs intend to increase a number of joint productions. Moreover, the Uzbek goods can be exported to the Western markets via Kazakhstan. Andijan is one of Uzbekistan’s strategically important regions where the chemical, machine-building and textile clusters are developed. For example, this factory produces nearly all types of shoes. The products are exported to 20 different countries. Kazakhstan ranks first in this list.
MUZAFFAR VALIKHANOV, PLANT MANAGER, UZBEKISTAN:
- In general, we deliver 20% of the volume of exports to Kazakhstan. We established good relations with the Kazakh companies. In the future, we plan to increase exports by 35-40%.
Andijan has a number of minerals. The 180 investment projects for the development of mineral resources have been implemented there. The car assembled there has become Uzbekistan’s brand. In the region, all kinds of vegetables are grown. Most importantly, the country create all the conditions for attracting foreign entrepreneurs.

- Today, investors from neighboring countries and local business facilities from the government have many opportunities. In the beginning they will even work at zero rate. We eliminate the various obstacles they face. There are many opportunities to export goods produced by joint ventures.
The special Roadmap has been developed between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Last year, the republic signed 170 agreements. It is planned to establish the practical work. The parties intend to link the border zones in southern Kazakhstan and Tashkent, as well as Andijan with Almaty.

- Andijan is famous for its fruit and berries. The processing cluster is well developed. This will increase the production for export. In this regard, we came to an agreement on the establishment of joint ventures in Kazakhstan. Small and medium-sized businesses are a driving force of the economy. It will also provide an opportunity to create a new manufacturing enterprise.
Tourism of the two countries is developing. Travelers are attracted to Andijan's historical sites. Uzbekistan’s introduction of transit visa regime is beneficial for Kazakhs. Guests can enjoy the unique beauty of the region.
