A conference ‘Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: Past, Present and Future’ was held in Tashkent
It was announced that 2018 has become the year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan. This will further strengthen fraternal relations between the countries. This was voiced by diplomats, politicians and public figures at the ‘Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: Past, Present and Future’ conference in Tashkent. The event is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as well as to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan. Experts highlighted the enhanced partnership between the two states. This year the trade turnover between the republics has been increased by 30%. Today nearly 800 Uzbek enterprises work in Kazakhstan, and approximately 200 companies function in Uzbekistan with the support of the Kazakh investors. Next year joint military exercises are planned, which will strengthen the interaction of the republics in security.

- In 25 years we have come a long way together. The road wasn’t easy, but complicated. Our economies are so complex like puzzles which connect firmly and complement each other. We don’t compete with each other, but complement each other. This provides a good opportunity to further strengthen the economies.
