Export of gas
Kazakhstan has increased the supply of liquefied gas to Ukraine. From the beginning of autumn, direct and re-export shipments amounted to over 20,000 tons. According to experts, this stabilized the gas prices in Ukraine. In the last 5 years Ukraine has joined the world's top ten countries using liquefied gas as an automobile fuel.
IVAN KUDINOV, OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY EXPERT:
- Tengizchevroil is one of Kazakhstan’s gas producers and our dynamic and premium market where prices allow suppliers and exporters to earn money well. They are seriously considering our market and it is possible to increase supplies to 20, 000 tons per month. If now they supply approximately 10, 000 tons, there is potential to double the amount. Our country, which depends on imports, should look for new ways of the supply. The gas from Kazakhstan stabilized the price situation in many respects. The gas was exported in late summer and early autumn of this year.
A year ago, Ukraine consumed 110,000 tons of gasoline a month. Now the gas demand has amounted to 150, 000 tons.
ANDREY BYCHKOV, DIRECTOR, PETROL STATION CHAIN:
- Ukraine has become quite dependent on imports which pushed us to search for new import channels including the Kazakh resource. Today, the Kazakh side is satisfied with the marginality and cost. In turn, we are satisfied with the quality and the rate of the supply.
Kazakhstan’s gas will be exported to China, too. In the coming year, 5 billion cubic meters of fuel will be transported to China. Preparations for this event have been started back in 2007. The powerful Asian transit gas pipeline was built, which starts from Turkmenistan. The second stage is the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline as well as compressor stations where the gas will be supplied to domestic market and China.
RUSTAM KAMALKHODZHAYEV, HEAD, SYSTEMATIC PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT:
- It is possible to observe 6 measuring threads in the diagram. We export one thread out of three to China and according to the regime, 700, 000 cubes of gas per hour are exported.
Export of blue fuel is Kazakhstan's strategic plans to develop a new Eurasian logistics infrastructure. The resource base and available reserves from the national operator’s underground gas storage facilities are located in western Kazakhstan.
MUKHATAI SHANBATYROV, SPOKESPERSON, INTERGAS CENTRAL ASIA JSC:
- Year round gas will be supplied. This is surplus gas, which southern Kazakhstan consumes including Taraz and Almaty.
Previously, Kazakhstan exported gas to Europe through Russia. There will be a direct delivery to China.
