Development of light industry
Light industry is one of the most important sectors of the economy. Kazakhstani manufacturers are actively developing light industry, increasing competitiveness and production capacities. The shoe factory in Taraz made 135,000 pairs of men's shoes last year and 125,000 pairs in the past nine months. The shoes are in high demand among Kazakhstan citizens. Buyers from abroad express interest as well.
MUKHTAR SHAYUNUSOV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, SHOE FACTORY:
- We have agreed to export shoes to Russia and Kyrgyzstan. We hope that we will implement this in the fourth quarter. + There is a full production cycle in our company. Raw materials are obtained from the cattle.
More than 60 types of footwear are produced on German equipment, starting from military to casual shoes. Such a rich assortment is designed for men only. The factory is planning to launch production of women's and children's footwear soon. The shoe manufacturers achieved 85% of local content. They only import small details such as rubber and shoelaces. The maximum production capacity of the enterprise is 400,000 pairs of shoes per year.
NATALYA BAZHINA, HEAD OF SHOEHOUSE SHOP:
- 800 pairs are made in 8 working hours. We have the capacity; we can organize the work in two shifts + the shoes are made according to the required standards. We make shoes for the Defense Ministry.
A new shoe factory has opened in Uralsk. Manufacturers use the Turkish technologies to make up to a thousand pairs of men's demi season boots per week. Production lines are automated, and specialists are well trained.
DZHEMALETTIN GULER, MASTER OF PRODUCTION SHOP:
=- We help our partners to establish production. 60 people were recruited. The master from Turkey teaches them how to make shoes. We are planning to manufacture up to 25,000 pairs of shoes per month.
The shoe factory was built on the basis of a new leather processing plant. The plant is designed to process 2.5 thousand sheep and 750 bull skins per shift. The equipment was purchased in Italy. This is a primary processing stage. After the launch of the full production cycle, the thinner skin will be obtained to make women's and children's footwear. The shoes will be affordable, manufacturers say.
GAUKHAR GAZIZOVA, ACCOUNTANT, LEATHER PROCESSING PLANT:
- We purchase local raw materials. While the equipment is being mounted, shoes are sewn from the Turkish leather. The first batch includes four models of men's shoes, but the line will expand to 35 models.
The enterprise is one of the six new investment projects of the regional industrialization map.
