KAZAKHSTAN AND AZERBAIJAN: 25 YEARS OF COOPERATION
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations. During the years, the countries have established cooperation in all industries, particularly, implementation of large regional projects in energy and transport.
GANIRE PASHAYEVA, AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT MEMBER:
- After Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan gained independence, the countries’ relations got a strong impetus to strengthening. Both countries seriously support each other in international organizations. Regarding any issues that concern Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan actively defends its positions. Along with political ties, economic relations demonstrate a high level of development. Advancement is observed in industries like construction, energy, trade, agriculture and finance. The implementation of joint major projects strengthens the position of both states in the region.
Parliament members highlight strong ties between the countries in humanitarian cooperation. Translation of Kazakh literature is afoot in Azerbaijan. Implementation of joint cultural projects is underway.

- The ties between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are strong at a very high level. In connection with the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, I note that governments and parliaments of both countries have a great responsibility in preserving of what has been achieved by using the great potential of our countries. Serious efforts are made in this direction. Relations with the new parliament are also at the level of regular contact. After an invitation from our colleagues by the end of this year, we will visit Kazakhstan. I think this will serve to strengthen our relations.
In recent years, both countries have supported each other to implement political and international initiatives as well as to conduct various world class events, including EXPO 2017 which is taking place in Astana.
