Today Kazakhstan is Germany's key partner in the Central Asian region. Kazakhstan is the fourth largest oil supplier to Germany. The German investors are focusing on the non-primary sector of Kazakhstan’s economy which includes machine building, production of building materials and agriculture. These are consistent with the objectives of the new Nurly Zhol economic policy. Germany is also a strategic partner in power efficiency and energy saving, as well as in development of a dual vocational education system.
