MOODY’S AFFIRMS ASTANA’S BAA3 RATING
Moody’s Investors Service has affirmed Astana’s investment and credit rating at Baa3 and changed the outlook to stable from negative. Astana’s rating reflects the improvement in the current balance and economic development of the city. According to experts, growth of the budget income, low refinancing risk and dynamic economic growth had an impact on the credit strength of Kazakhstan’s capital city. Special economic zone positively affects the development of Astana. More than 60 projects are being implemented in the special economic zone. Over 40 chemical, metallurgical, motor transport and light industry enterprises have been launched. They provide high-quality products to Kazakhstan’s market.

- Development of industrial park No. 1 had a positive impact on the development of the city as a whole. The allocated state funds have been recovered twice due to incoming tax funds from enterprises, as well as the creation of about 3,000 jobs.
The second industrial park will be created in the special economic zone this year. There will be over 130 enterprises, including both Kazakhstani and foreign companies.
