KAZAKHSTAN EXPORTS HONEY TO CHINA
Kazakhstan and China signed an agreement on sanitary standards for honey exports. Chinese customers have tested Kazakhstani honey in their laboratories and confirmed that it is fully organic.
Sick and weak bees are less active. This colony is active, which means they are healthy.
Valery Kassymbayev inspects every beehive. Honeybees should always be healthy. If they become sick the entire production will be suspended, the work of 1,500 people will stop.
VALERY KASSYMBAYEV, FARMER:
- Honey production cluster should be created. We need to develop the design of the jar and the label.
South Kazakhstan and Zhambyl region beekeepers joined Kassymbayev’s bee farm in order to learn how to produce honey at the industrial level.
FYODOR KRAUSE, SPOKESPERSON, KAZAKHSTAN’S BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION:
- Small enterprises are not able to export the product. Even though I have 100 bee colonies, China will not work with me. Kassymbayev has 300,000 colonies, warehouses, package shops.
At present, Kazakhstan produces about 10,000 tons of honey per year. One third of the finished product is shipped abroad. The price for exported honey continues to grow. It grew from $3 to $10 per kilogram from the beginning of the year. Mongolian and Russian beekeepers purchase Kazakhstani bees. 15,000 bees were sold in the last six months.
