Power renewable energy facilities increase in Kazakhstan

The installed capacity of renewable energy facilities (RES), with the exception of large hydro, totaled 251.55 MW in Kazakhstan at the end of the 1st quarter of 2016. This is 74 MW or 1.4 times more than in the same period of 2015. Most of the growth occurred in the solar and wind power stations- the installed capacity increase made up 52.1 MW and 17.5 MW in a year, media reported. The aggregate production of "clean" electricity amounted to about 187 million KW/h in the country in January-March 2016. The main part of produced energy was provided by small hydro and wind power stations.
