IMF chief Lagarde urges Athens economic reforms
The International Monetary Fund has rejected participation in the third assistance package for Greece and calls for ‘important economic reforms’ to be carried out by Athens. According to Deutsche Welle, the IMF believes that the economic potential of Greece should be strengthened, as the total amount of debt should be getting down to sustainable levels. According to the IMF chief Lagarde, launch of the pension reform is welcome, but its results are still unclear. In the near future international institutions will publish a report on the implementation of the third package of financial aid to Athens worth 86 billion euros.
