YELENA ZABIRNIK, HEAD, ASTRAKHAN CENTER FOR CULTURE AND EDUCATION:
- The most surprising thing was a combination of how Kazakh culture is represented in photographs. It can be seen that the culture was preserved in the combination of innovations and approaches to modern urban development. Of course, this is amazing. This is rare.
The exhibition was organized with the support of the Foundation of the First President and Consulate of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan. The purpose of the exposition is to introduce spectators to Kazakhstan’s achievements through the prism of drastic transformation of the young capital.
ALIYA KAISHAROVA, SPOKESPERSON, FUND OF FIRST PRESIDENT:
- We want everyone to know what country we are living in. The whole world knows how Astana has blossomed. They are surprised on how the capital has succeeded.
The exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana increased interest among citizens. At the opening of the event, the governor of the Astrakhan region congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the anniversary of the capital.
ALEKSANDER ZHILKIN, GOVERNOR, ASTRAKHAN REGION:
- In history of the world, I do not remember about a new capital which had been built in 10-15 years. The capital with all necessary infrastructures was constructed not on the ordinary place. Of course, this is the pride of both Kazakhstan and Kazakhs. As the nearest neighbors, we are proud, too. Young architects will come. They will also learn this.
The exposition of photo works dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana will last for two weeks in Astrakhan. Then this exhibition will be showcased in Kazan, and then in Germany, France and China. The exposition has already visited Madrid, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
