Fifth Congress of Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has attempted to establish a dialogue between politics and religion during the Fifth Congress of Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions held in Astana earlier in June and that brought together the representatives of over 42 countries. Before the plenary session, the Head of State met with the members of the Council of Religious Leaders at a round table. The previous congress was held three years ago. During this time, the world has faced new attempts aimed at sowing discord on the grounds of racial and religious hostility. Nursultan Nazarbayev encouraged the muftis, priests and rabbis to continue strengthening and promoting peace, harmony, tolerance and forgiveness.
