It seems that music lives in the very nature of this land. It howls in a free wind over the peaks of the Caucasus mountains, sings with sonorous streams between the rocks and makes noise in the waves of the gray-haired Caspian, warming its soul like the ever-burning flame of AteshgYakh. Tar is a universal instrument. You can play any classical music on it. The Azerbaijani art of playing on a tar and the craftsmanship of its manufacture in 2012 was included in the list of masterpieces of the oral and intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
