Attendees of a conference in Almaty have discussed the segment of business tourism. Only 18% of local companies do not have a business tourism policy. Experts say that one of the problems, which prevent the development of corporate trips in Kazakhstan, is the absence of clear understanding how the effective management of business trips may help with the development of the company and minimising costs. Many companies in Kazakhstan do not know how to plan business strips in order to minimize the costs of these trips. A recent survey conducted among large companies in Kazakhstan showed that 28% of companies appoint secretaries to be in charge of business trip planning, 19% of companies direct department heads to plan it, while 15% of companies have their business trips managed by travel coordinators. A total of 12% of companies, entrust their business trip planning to the heads of companies, 6% to marketing departments, 3% of companies appoint it as a job of financial departments and 1% of companies direct their HR departments to deal with business trips. In other 15% of cases this job is entrusted to other staff. In this connection, only 15% of companies have special travel coordinators responsible for business trips. International analysts are convinced there will be further increase in the corporate travel market. The key aspect of business trips is the sustainable economic growth and the integration of business into international business relations and Kazakhstan has all these prerequisites.
Kazakhstan market of medical technology is stable and gradually increasing the volume in the domestic market. Today this figure is estimated by experts at about 6 billion tenge. Experts note a growing interest in domestic production from private clinics and public health institutions. Another trend that experts pay attention to is a gradual saturation of the market by expensive high-precision technology. Along major cities almost in all regions hospitals are equipped with computer tomography, X-ray machines as well as equipment for ultrasound tests. On the other hand there is an increasing need in medical technology of lower middle price categories. This is the area that domestic manufacturers are mostly focusing on. Another trend is the production of clean room facilities. These are operating rooms, facilities for pharmaceutical production. In addition domestic market has already received the first lot of oxygen plants which are installed in Semey city as well as in the Almaty region. All in all presently in the country several major enterprises located in Almaty, Aktobe and Shymkent are engaged in the production of medical equipment. Nevertheless more than 80% of goods are imported from abroad. A Ggeat interest in the Kazakhstan market is shown by Customs Union partners. The volume of Kazakhstan's medical equipment market is estimated by experts at about 200 million US dollars per year. However, the market is still heavily dependent on imports of medical equipment which accounts for 90% of the total market. Market participants conducting economic analysis found out that about 50% of the population of the country resorts to paid medical services. Moreover the share of consumers of commercial services is growing in an annual basis. Doctors say that the development of a highly specialised medical assistance provided to the population by private clinics has become one of the main trends of this year. According to specialists during the first half of this year the inflow of patients into these facilities has increased by more than 10% compared with the same period last year. In addition, specialists noted the strengthening of partnership between the government and private sector.
