International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. This day marks the achievements of women in political, economic and social fields, celebrates the past, present and future of women of the world. The modern celebration of the International Women's Day has no longer the goal to fight for the rights of women, and is considered as the day of spring, female beauty, tenderness, spiritual wisdom. On this day representatives of the strong half of mankind can once again please their loved ones and relatives with gifts and attention.

The official status of the International Women's Day this holiday acquired by the decision of the United Nations Organization in 1975, and is annually celebrated as the "International Day for Women's Rights and International Peace." On this day, women from all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, have the opportunity to come together and remember the tradition that represents at least a few decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

In Kazakhstan, this day is a holiday and there are many celebrations devoted to women held in organizations. In 2015, the National Bank of Kazakhstan issued a commemorative coin to 8 March. The silver 100 Tenge coin released into circulation on January 28, and can be purchased in all branches of the National Bank, as well as through its online store.
