Promotion of financial technologies and creation of an ecosystem is one of the most important areas of work at the Astana International Financial Center. The AIFC is set to become a hub that will unite innovative solutions and new ideas around the world as well as a platform for interaction of the world companies in FinTech. The financial center launched the international Fintech Stars accelerator program in Astana. The partners are the Swiss group Seed Stars and the local MOST business incubator. Top ten startup teams from around the world will take part in the competition. The authors of the best projects in the financial technology, insurance and e-commerce will be granted US$20,000, as well as a chance for subsequent investments worth US$350,000.

IGOR OVCHARENKO, SPOKESPERSON, SWISS GROUP SEED STARS:

- The accelerating program starts with a 2-day wet camp and we will work intensively with selected 10 start-ups. Then, we will work with them for 10 weeks. On July 4th, we will have a demo-day, to which we will invite investors from our network, and also attract local investors with the help of local partners.

ASEL ZHIYENBAYEVA, DIRECTOR, DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES, AIFC:

 - We are negotiating with the UK. We agreed with the regulator in China. There are special financial hubs in Tel Aviv, where we will exchange start-ups. The startups that will successfully complete our programs will visit other territories for 3 months in order to get the experience in competitions.

The teams from Kazakhstan, the EAEU countries, Central Asia, Transcaucasia, Europe, China and Mongolia can take part in the competition. According to the terms and conditions, the projects must have a monthly income of US$5,000. The 6 Kazakh and 4 foreign teams will get into the final. The application will last 1.5 months. According to the organizers, the program will give participants a unique opportunity to work on their projects with the world’s best experts.
