The U.S. has accepted 85,000 refugees from 79 countries during this year. According to the State Department, more than half of them are citizens of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria, Myanmar, Iraq and Somalia. Over 70% of them are women and children. The majority of migrants have been placed in California, Texas, New York, Michigan and Ohio. The U.S. plans to receive 110 thousand refugees next year
