The capital city of Mongolia Ulaanbaatar hosts the XI ASEM Summit - a meeting of heads of states and governments of Asia and Europe. This year’s agenda is the fight against international terrorism, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, tackling the global economic crisis as well as environmental issues. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov emphasized in his speech that the success of our country would have been impossible without a leader - President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is actively promoting the idea of ​​international cooperation, promotes the internationalization and mutual economic cooperation with all foreign partners.


Countries of the Eurasian continent constitute over 50% of world GDP and about 60% of the world’s population, Kazakh Prime Minister said. Karim Massimov also noted that cooperation among ASEM countries will help to strengthen transport arteries. This infrastructural development is one of the directions of "Nurly Zhol" program. A Highway "Western Europe - Western China" will link highways of Asia and Europe. In addition, the railway Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran linked our country with the Persian Gulf. The Kazakh side offers the Summit participants to promote cooperation in two directions: to strengthen the integration of scientific research between the two countries and to create effective institutions that would build transparency and interaction between nations.
