Italy plans military action against ISIL in Libya
Italy is readying for a military operation in Libya which will start as soon as the new authorities will ask for support. Warships and fighters and 3000 soldiers are ready to be deployed. They can take under protection Libyan oil fields and oil pipelines. Constantly growing IS forces are a threat for Italy which shares only a sea frontier with Libya. The United States, France and Britain are already fighting the terrorists on Libyan territory.
Matteo RENZI, PRIME MINISTER OF ITALY:
We hope that an agreement on the Government of Faiza Saraj in Libya will be reached. This cabinet is the result of tremendous UN efforts. If the Libyans accept it we are ready to work with this government. If not, then we'll see what to do.
