Kazakhstan’s airlines to resume flights to Egypt in March
Air travel between Kazakhstan and Egypt will be resumed. This was announced by the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of investments and development of the country. Together with colleagues from the Arab Republic and Kazakhstan Tourist Association they had a safety check inspection to the airports of Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh. After the crash of the Russian airliner in October it introduced a five-tier system of control of baggage.
Darkhan KATYSHEV, HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, CIVIL AVIATION COMMITTEE:
During the safety check inspection we reviewed how to ensure the safety of baggage, how to conduct the screening of passengers, cargo, mail, how to conduct the inspection of hand luggage. The level of airport security is very strict. Their police officers carried out inspection in the hall of the airport and the entire perimeter of the airport is guarded by the military.
Saltanat TOMPIYEVA, HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, CIVIL AVIATION COMMITTEE:
If any of the Kazakh air carrier has the intention to open flights to Egypt, we just assign them officially on diplomatic channels and then they, based on their desire perform these flights. Besides «SCAT» other airlines do not intend to carry out flights.
