Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are stepping into the new stage of cooperation of women entrepreneurs

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are stepping into the new stage of cooperation of women entrepreneurs. Tashkent hosted the first business forum titled ‘A Role of Eastern Women in Economic Development of Countries.’ During the opening ceremony, Kazakh Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova highlighted that the state policy has set a goal to empower Kazakh women. She also spoke about innovations in business as part of the fourth industrial revolution in the republic. For example, the share of women in Kazakhstan's small and medium-sized businesses exceeded 43%. In addition, the forum featured innovative business projects by women entrepreneurs of both countries and agreements on the exchange of experience.

GULSHARA ABDYKALIKOVA, KAZAKH SECRETARY OF STATE:

 - Regular cross-country business forums, as well as regional forms of border territories, can become effective platforms for further expansion of business ties between women entrepreneurs. Our second goal is to develop the inclusive trade with the emphasis on digital technologies that will contribute to the task set by our President of increasing mutual trade to US$5 billion by 2020.

YERKINAI MAMAZHANOVA, UZBEK ENTREPRENEUR:

 - The forum will allow women entrepreneurs to find new partners, improve the exchange of information and establish new business relations between the Kazakh and Uzbek entrepreneurs. I think that this cooperation will strengthen the economic development of the two countries and will create new jobs.
