Students’ World Futsal Championship
Almaty is hosting the World Futsal Championship among students. In the first days of the competition, Kazakhstan’s national team beat the Czech Republic team with a score 4: 3, Kazakhstan cruised to a 2: 0 over New Zealand and the score ended in a 1: 1 tie with Belarus. Thus, Kazakhs withdrew from the ‘C’ group with 7 points. An opponent of the Kazakh team in a playoff will be the national team of Argentina. Competitions of this scale are organized on the territory of Commonwealth of Independent States for the first time. The strongest players of 25 youth teams, particularly, 16 male and 9 female teams from 17 different countries including Argentina, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Canada, China, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Thailand, Ukraine, France, Croatia and the Czech Republic compete in mini-football. The tournament will last until August 26. Participants and spectators are waiting for an unforgettable experience.

- The match was very interesting. The Kazakh team played well. All their players are strong. I know that three players play for the national team and they have a great experience. It’s great that the audience supports their athletes. This championship gathered the best players and the matches will be spectacular.
