New facts about Kazakh philospher Shakarim - Kazakh TV

New facts about Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev’s life were revealed. In a rare 1914 edition of Agricultural Review, the staff of the Abai library in Semei discovered statistic data about the philosopher’s farm village. The publication revealed that 16 people lived in Shakarim’s winter village. The book also contains information about the livestock stating that there were about 400 sheep on the farm. The rare book was publicly displayed for the first time to mark the 160th birth anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh poet and philosopher.

RAKHILYA ADIKAYEVA, HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, ABAI LIBRARY:

-This book is interesting because we discovered information about Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev showing how long he lived there. For example, there are 80 lines in the book and there is a line saying that four generations lived there and that Shakarim was not the first generation. The book described the fourth generation. Speaking of cattle farming, Shakarim raised camels. He didn’t have a lot, only eight of them, including two baby camels aged less than one year. Nevertheless, all this information was meticulously gathered.

MEDET BOZHAN, STAFF, ABAI LIBRARY:

-This book belongs to the collection of rare publications. We have only an original copy of this book in a single copy. The original copy dates back to 1914. Next, we are planning to make copies of this book.
