Green Economy projects increase in Kazakhstan

International companies are interested to kick-start green projects in Kazakhstan. One of the projects will be developed in Mangystau region involving the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 42 megawatt, which will begin in August in Tupkaragan district. 375 hectares of land was allocated in the town of Fort-Shevchenko for the project. The developers plan to install more than 17 wind generators with the capacity of 2.5 kilowatt. The total cost of the project will be over 20 billion tenge.

SERGEI PARTSIKYAN, INVESTOR:

-We will use equipment of the leading Chinese companies manufactured based on the best European practices. We have concluded the power purchase agreement with the accounting and finance center. It is an agreement for the purchase of 100 per cent of electricity generated by the plant during 15 years at a specific tariff. The accounting and finance center will purchase this electricity.

-Our company’s main focus is designing equipment for wind power plants. We often receive requests from Russia. It’s the first time we are delivering equipment to Kazakhstan. Construction of wind power plants is aimed at improvement of environment. People can consume electricity without harming nature.

Kazakh businessmen are also interested in investing in the project. The construction of the wind power plant will be completed in the summer of 2019.
