Implemetation of 'Green technologies'

Auctions of green technologies with the total capacity of one gigawatt will be held in Kazakhstan this year. The winners will get a 15-year contract with a single buyer of renewable energy. According to experts, the auction system not only allows to reduce the cost of renewable energy, but will also give an impetus to the development of alternative energy in Kazakhstan. At the same time, the Kazakh officials are planning to launch 133 projects presented at the EXPO 2017 international exhibition all over Kazakhstan. They include 28 local and 105 foreign projects. Currently, the parties are holding negotiations on their implementation in the regions of Kazakhstan. Bilateral memorandums are also being signed between the regional governor’s offices and the International Center for Green Technologies. The center is set to provide the projects with expertise and attract new investors.
