- Currently, about 2.5 million tourists visit our country. We excluded the migrant workers from this calculation, a large part of them arrive from Central Asia.  We believe that about 7.7 million tourists will visit the country until 2025. This includes only tourists, without migrant workers.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Kazakhstan is increasing every year. The international travelers are eager to travel to Kazakhstan and visit the cultural and natural attractions of the country. In general, tour operators can offer the travelers about 50 various tours in all the regions of Kazakhstan, including Astana and Almaty. Recently, the Baiterek monument, the Medeu ski resort and the Nur Astana mosque have been included in the World List of Tourist Attractions.

- We are currently focused on 11 international markets. We have prioritized Russia and China, followed by Western Europe. Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom travellers visit Kazakhstan for eco-tourism purposes. We are also looking at the Southeast Asia markets such as Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong and the countries with which we have direct flights and visa waiver agreements.

The share of domestic tourism is also growing in Kazakhstan. Last year, the share grew by 20 per cent as more than 5.5 million Kazakh citizens preferred to spend their vacations in Kazakhstan. The Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program played an important role in this progress. Tourists are also attracted by the reconstruction of Turkistan, Otyrar, Kultobe and Sauran ancient settlements as well as the development of the museum reserve and new museums, such as Botay in North Kazakhstan region and Bozok in Astana. An e-tourism website will be developed to promote the Kazakhstan brand. The online service will help travelers plan their journey, book hotels and access the databases of tour operators, travel agencies and transport companies.
