Akhal-teke horse breed

The Akhal-Teke horse breed is one of the purest and oldest existing horse breeds. Currently there are only 8,000 Akhal-Teke horses in the world. These horses originate from Turkmenistan. The breeds are very popular abroad due to their distinctive features of elegant shape, grace and lightness which makes a lasting impression.Turkmen horse breeders are currently working on increasing the population of the Akhal-Teke horses.

IMAM SINIKOV, STABLEMAN:

- There are about 40 horses living in this part of the facility. About 200 foals were born this year alone.

The Akhal-Teke horses are known for their endurance. Originating from the Karakum Desert, they adapt well to extreme weather conditions. The Akhal-Teke horses demonstrate excellent results in sports events. However, they require special treatment.

FAGILA ZARIPOVA, HORSE RIDER:

-This horse is very good for riding. It is so easy and pleasant to work with it. However, it is very hard to handle the horse on the ground.

The monuments of the beautiful and graceful Akhal-Teke horses are set up all over Turkmenistan. Most of the sculptures of the horses are located in Turkmen capital, Ashgabat.
