Kazakhstan-Brazil: Cooperation focus

Brazil plans to adopt Kazakhstan’s experience in developing large cities. The Latin American country is interested in Astana’s experience. Celebratory events marking the 20th anniversary of Astana were held in Kazakh embassy in Brasilia where the delegated discussed a number of important topics.

MARCELO BORGES, HEAD OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATIONS DEPARTMENT, BRAZIL:

 - Astana made a big leap in its development in a short period of time. Representatives of the largest companies and agencies are willing to adopt this experience, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as managers of the business giants, such as BioTIC, Embrapa and ASTEPS. The prominence of the delegates shows that local officials respect Astana and are ready to work with its government.

During the roundtable meeting, the event participants discussed prospects of cooperation between the two capitals in terms of exchanging the best practices in smart technologies. The countries are also set to implement joint projects in the economy, education, culture and innovations.

Many Brazilian participants who attended the event recently returned from Astana as they visited the Kazakh capital during Astana’s anniversary day celebrations. They highlighted Astana’s rapid development rate and hospitality of its people. The meeting participants also watched the film ‘Astana – the City of the World’ as well as a presentation about the architectural design and attractions of the Kazakh capital.
