Astana hosted first Annual Research Forum for Central Asia

Astana hosted the first Annual Research Forum for Central Asia. This has become the continuation of a conference traditionally held by scholars and students in the United Kingdom. Approximately 100 participants took part in the meeting. The primary goal was to strengthen the ties between science and business. The program of the forum consisted of two parts. The first one was related to sustainable development of education, finance and business. The second part was dedicated to topics on increasing the young scientists’ participation in the development of science.

YEVGENIYA KIM, DIRECTOR, CAREER AND ADVISING CENTER, NAZARBAYEV UNIVERSITY:

- We are a research university. Our scientists, specifically, faculty members and graduate students are involved in research in different areas. They meet and discuss their reports and programs which are quite comprehensive and include topics as communication and sustainable development in business.

ADIL ZHARMUKHAMBETOV, NAZARBAYEV UNIVERSITY ALUMNA:

- We have technologies and initiatives as well as people who are engaged in research. However, until now the industry and the sector haven’t been ready to involve talents and initiatives. The event is of importance since it creates a platform between young scientists and the business sector.
