Cooperation between universities of Kazakhstan and Italy - Kazakh TV

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Sapienza University of Rome are introducing a double degree program. It is designed for undergraduates majoring in international cooperation where the language of instruction is English.

ANDREA CARTENY, PROFESSOR, SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY OF ROME:

 - The dual degree program allows a student to take part of his courses in another university, in another country and broaden his or her horizons. The double degree is very useful to have since the student will have two valid documents.

Fabio Grassi is a professor at the Sapienza University of Rome and lectures on the history of Eurasia. His Kazakh colleague Kalkaman Zhumagulov invited him to lecture in Almaty. Their meeting laid the cornerstone of the cooperation between the educational institutions. The professor of an old Italian university is currently working in Kazakhstan.

FABIO GRASSI, PROFESSOR, SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY OF ROME:

 - I was able to meet people who are very optimistic about the future. I was surprised by young people, they are modern and active and I really liked it. The young people want to learn about the world. They are proud of what they already have and they are proud of their country.

The students of the Sapienza University of Rome are interested in the double degree program. Matteo Fraioli is going to use this opportunity. He is interested in oriental studies.

MATTEO FRAIOLI, STUDENT, SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY OF ROME:

 - Mostly I'm interested in getting acquainted with the eastern world. I think I will have such an opportunity in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is known as a bridge between Europe and Asia and a region of intercultural exchange. I have a chance to be introduced to it and I consider it as an excellent experience.

The double degree programs are available between the Sapienza University of Rome and the universities of Romania, Colombia and the Mediterranean countries. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was first in Kazakhstan to conclude a contract with the Italian university. Rome is now ready to welcome the students from Almaty.
