Opinions about President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiatives
Kazakhstan sees sustainable economic development. According to member of the European parliament Miroslav Mitrofanov, the five social initiatives proposed by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev show the planned work on building a prosperous state which strives to improve the well-being of its citizens. The parliamentarian keeps an eye on the reforms in Kazakhstan and recognizes the country’s informal leadership in the societies and economies of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
MIROSLAV MITROFANOV, MEMBER, EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT:
- Many of the reforms proposed by the President correspond to the long-term plans that are discussed in the most developed countries of the European Union and which can’t be realized because the EU is developing very unevenly. There are states with a good socio-economic situation, but there are many countries that have not emerged from the 2008-2010 crises. For example, there is a sharp reduction in the mortgage rate. The large-scale assistance to students is impossible.
The initiatives of the Kazakh President will lead to new achievements, Chinese experts say. According to spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Kang, these decisions will contribute to the well-being of the people and the country’s economy. The diplomat also noted that Kazakhstan and China have become strategic partners by establishing cooperation in almost all areas. In addition, Lu Kang highlights the successful implementation of joint projects of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
LU KANG, SPOKESPERSON, CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY:
- Chinese officials support the social initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan. We are confident that these proposals will lead to an improvement in the well-being of a population. We are satisfied with the current relations between our countries. Thanks to the strategic policy of our heads of state, cooperation between the countries will further develop.
German political scientist Matthias Dornfeld noted that the five initiatives of the Kazakh leader are timely and significant. He believes that the focus on youth and higher education is especially important. The focus on engineering programs will allow the country to correspond to the worldwide trend of training highly professional specialists. In general, this will raise the living standards of the people and will help strengthen the country's economy.
MATTHIAS DORNFELD, POLITICAL SCIENTIST:
- I believe that the five social initiatives of President Nazarbayev will strengthen the economy, improve the quality of education and raise the living standards of the population. The program also gives attention to entrepreneurs who will be able to get micro loans to do business. Moreover, as a professor, I am very pleased that the number of scholarships will be increased. The President highlighted that it is necessary to train those specialists who will be in demand in the future.
